Laptuote Foundation's Toukotapahtuma – Communication and Marketing
During my time as a communication assistant/content creator at Laptuote Foundation, I had the opportunity to execute communication and marketing for the foundation's spring event, Toukotapahtuma. I was also part of the team responsible for organizing the entire event. The theme of the event was recycling, ecology, and local entrepreneurs, where we showcased the products and activities of local producers and artisans. The event featured an open house at the foundation's premises, and TikTok's popular Eki the dog also made an appearance.
My role involved collaborating with my colleague to develop a comprehensive communication strategy and marketing materials that aligned with the event's themes and attracted visitors. I maintained close contact with various stakeholders, including local producers and vendors, who participated by presenting and selling their products.
Designing the Visual Identity and Marketing Materials
I began by creating the event's visual identity, which I later refined to better reflect the event's spirit and the Laptuote Foundation's brand. I created a variety of visual materials, including social media stories, Facebook and Instagram posts, and invitations for participants. Additionally, I designed a print advertisement for the event in a local magazine to ensure it reached a wide audience. Together with my colleague, I also ensured the event was listed in local digital event calendars and created the necessary visuals (banners, flyers, etc.) for those listings.
During and After the Event
During the event, I kept the social media channels active, encouraging more visitors to attend. After the event, I created a recap video that summarized the day's highlights and showcased the best moments in video format.
Learnings and Experiences
This project gave me an excellent opportunity to develop my skills in event marketing, communication, and visual design. I was responsible for the overall visual identity of Toukotapahtuma, which was incredibly inspiring. Being part of the organizing team was extremely rewarding, and I would love to be involved in similar projects in the future!
