Social Media Content Creation for Goodwill Joutseno
As a Communication Assistant / Content Creator at Laptuote Foundation, I was also partly responsible for the social media content creation for Goodwill Joutseno. Although my office was mainly located in Lappeenranta and I wasn’t able to visit the Joutseno thrift store as often, I still participated in the planning and production of social media content for the Joutseno store. Generally, the Goodwill Joutseno employees handled most of the social media content creation, especially for Facebook.
Communication Goals
My goal was to ensure that the communication for the Joutseno store followed Goodwill Finland's brand and visual guidelines. I aimed to highlight Goodwill's values, products, and current offers, ensuring that the core message of the brand was conveyed to customers.
Developing Multi-Location Content Production
This role provided me with an excellent opportunity to develop my skills in managing multi-location content production. Although I was not solely responsible for Joutseno’s social media communication, I made sure that it remained as consistent and on-brand as possible.
Challenges and Priorities
During my time at Laptuote Foundation from May onward, I was primarily responsible for managing the social media channels for Laptuote, SOTE Workshop, and Goodwill Lappeenranta, as well as other communication tasks such as designing brochures and updating websites. This created scheduling challenges, but Laptuote's own social media channels were the main priority for content production. I actively listened to employees’ post suggestions, which sometimes made scheduling and planning more difficult. However, I ensured that current topics and promotions were highlighted and worked to create engaging, brand-consistent content despite the workload. This experience helped me enhance my time management skills and my ability to create diverse content for communication and marketing.
Closure of Goodwill Joutseno Operations
It is also important to mention that Goodwill Joutseno’s operations ended in August 2024, which impacted my ability to produce as much content for the store’s social media.
